General Information about Spain

Spain, officially the Kingdom of Spain, is a country located in southwestern Europe, with parts of its territory reaching the Strait of Gibraltar and the Atlantic Ocean. Its mainland borders Portugal to the west, France and Andorra to the north and east, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south.

Spain is the only European country that shares a physical border with an African nation—Morocco.

With a surface area of over 500,000 km²

It is the fourth-largest country in Europe. Its capital and largest city is Madrid, followed by other major cities such as Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, and Bilbao.

Spain has a rich and diverse history

It has been home to many civilizations, including the Romans, Iberians, Celts, and Phoenicians. From the 8th to the 15th centuries, it was under Arab rule, which left a lasting legacy—especially in architecture, science, and culture.
The Reconquista concluded in 1492 with the fall of Granada to the Catholic Monarchs, the same year Columbus sailed to the Americas.

Spanish cuisine—famous for dishes like paella, tapas, and churros—is enjoyed around the world. Flamenco music and dance, bullfighting, and beautiful Mediterranean beaches also contribute to Spain’s international allure.

The country is also known for its vibrant cultural diversity

King Felipe VI is the current monarch. Spain is a member of the United Nations, the European Union, and many other international organizations. Celebrated for its art, architecture, history, and lifestyle, Spain continues to be one of the world’s top travel destinations.
I hope this provides a good overview. If you need more specific information or details on any specific aspect of Spain, please let me know.
